October Comes to a Close
I can’t believe we’re approaching the end of October. How are you doing? As an illustrator and mom, my anxiety peaks at about this time of year. I’m juggling holiday prep, anxious to get ahead of the shopping, and I’m mentally preparing for last minute holiday commissions.
What Makes a Home?
We’ve been wanting to move to Chicago for a year now, but things haven’t quite lined up yet. So we have to wait. It’s tough to wait for something when you know it feels right.
Immigration Anniversary
This summer marked the thirtieth anniversary of mine and my parents’ immigration to the United States. Inay has now been in the States longer than she has lived in the Philippines. I am the exact age Tatay was when he immigrated. My daughter is now the age I was when I immigrated. Time is bizarre, the now and then.
Inner Critic and a Squishy Tummy
I have something to admit. As happy as I look in these photos, I’m actually kind of bummed. The outfit is giving out good vibes and I’m left wondering where it went, why it ain’t giving me the popping upbeat energy on the inside? I guess you can’t always feel good even though you look good.
Shameless Ice Cream-aholic
There’s this scene from Netflix’s Working Moms where Anne goes to her freezer to get ice cream for a snack only to find that her stash of frozen creamy sweetness is all gone. “What the hell? Where’s my ice cream?” Her newly hired nanny got rid of it. All of it.
Weekend Happenings
Happy weekend folks. This weekend I’m wearing this top from Rent the Runway paired with these H&M shorts that I’ve had for years now (even if H&M has been greenwashing, this lady has been making the most out of her H&M buys).
Culottes + Friday Ramblings
Hello hello! It’s time for my latest ramblings, which includes breaking down this outfit, new sneakers, and cancelling corn flakes.
