You know that scene in "The Devil Wears Prada" where Anne Hathaway's character, Andy, is taking notes during a styling? Miranda Priestly asked for belts and the stylist holds up two turquoise belts to Miranda and says, "It's a tough call, they're so different." Miranda agrees. Andy giggles and everyone in the room stares at her as she refers to fashion as "this stuff". Miranda then goes on her power rant about how Cerulean blue was first seen in 2002 by Oscar de la Renta and how "it trickled on down to some tragic casual corner where you fished it out of some clearance bin."
I thought of that scene, which happens to be one of my favorite in that movie, when I saw Armani's Spring Couture line in Paris Fashion Week. Lilac, it's the color of the season! It's so interesting to see the domino effect the fashion industry creates. Sure enough we'll be seeing this color in H&M and Old Navy this Spring. And I'm so excited! I'm already obsessed and I now need my hair to be this color....along with everything else. Who's with me?!?!
