Color Palette

Way back in 2010, I took a very basic art class, Design and Color. At twenty years old, I saw this class as nothing but busy work. You know, one of those RANDOM classes you have to take before you get to do the fun stuff. Learning the elements and principles of design were boring!!!! I didn't enjoy it in high school, so how was I going to enjoy a whole class on just elements and principles of design!?

Fast forward to now! I still have my Design and Color binder from that class with all my random doodles and notes. I very often refer back to this book, my design bible if you will. It's taken me a long time to understand the importance of the elements and principles of design, and now, I'm obsessed with them! I see design and color EVERYWHERE!!!! It's a good thing I love art because it would ruin my life. I can't watch a tv show or a movie without seeing them. My style of fashion is very much influenced by design and color. I wouldn't say I'm a car person, but I have my favorite cars because of design and color. Design and color has taken over my life, and because of that I want to start a new segment where I analyze the colors in fashion, movies, interiors and more!

Here's what to expect from these segments. When I was studying color in Design and Color, we had to pick two works of art, dissect the colors and name the color scheme that was being used. So that's what I'll be doing with movie scenes, fashion lines, and more. Fun huh? Well fun for me and it'll probably ruin you lives. But where else am I going to nerd out about my love for art and design?
